YOUR PRIVATE EXCURSION TO

Bern

Bern, Switzerland’s federal capital, is located in the center of the country and is a must-visit city of Swiss Private Tours. You will discover this very surprising city on foot. A UNESCO’s World Heritage Site since 1983, the old town offers an incredible medieval atmosphere, with its fountains, high baroque facades and a maze of cobbled alleys.

Did you know that Einstein invented the theory of relativity here?

Our day trip to Bern then continues to the neighboring canton of Fribourg, a bilingual canton straddling the border of the French and German languages. We will pass the region of Gruyère, ‘the Country of Cheese’ at the foot of the Fribourg pre-Alps, not far from its famous medieval village and its castle, which gave its name to this region (optional stop).

According to our starting point, we may drive across the region of Vaud with its classified UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Lavaux vineyard. It has a unique picturesque character and a magnificent landscape, between the terraced cultures, Lake Geneva, the mountains and the sky, a must-stop for great pictures !

FARMER’S MARKET

If you visit Bern on a Tuesday or a Saturday
morning, you can stroll through the farmers’ market
and enjoy local produce. Indulge in a typical Swiss
meal in one of the cities’ many restaurants. Why
not try one of the local versions of a rösti, a crispy
potato pancake?

You don’t feel like this is the trip you need ? Well, no worries, we have plenty. Here is another one, you should take a look !
